Position: Ice Scheduler - Moose Jaw Minor Hockey
Moose Jaw Minor Hockey is seeking an Ice Scheduler to help coordinate our season schedule for 50-60 teams.
As an Ice Scheduler, you'll play a key role in organizing and managing ice time to ensure the smooth operation of games, practices, and special events for our teams throughout the hockey season.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full Season Scheduling: Develop, update, and maintain a comprehensive ice schedule for 50-60 teams, including games, practices, and tournaments.
- Ice Allocation: Work closely with the Board and Office Staff ensure fair and efficient ice allocation.
- Communication: Act as the primary contact for scheduling inquiries, and update team managers, coaches, and officials with schedule changes.
- Upload and Maintain: Populate and keep the Minor Hockey Web site updated
- Problem-Solving: Resolve scheduling conflicts and accommodate last-minute changes while maintaining balance and fairness in the schedule.
- Flexibility: Adjust schedules as needed based, weather conditions, and special events, and development programs
Qualifications:
- Previous Experience: Proven experience in scheduling or a similar role, ideally within a sports leagues.
- Proficiency in Excel: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Attention to Detail: Ability to manage complex schedules and multiple teams without missing important details.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Clear, prompt, and professional communication Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple schedules simultaneously.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of handling unexpected changes and resolving scheduling conflicts efficiently.
- Familiarity with Hockey: Understanding of hockey schedules, game durations, and standard practices for minor hockey leagues.
- Team-Oriented: Ability to work collaboratively
Work Schedule: Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, with the ability to work from home for most of the scheduling tasks.
Compensation: To be negotiated
