Sanctions and Permits


Hockey Saskatchewan requires that all Tournament Sanctions, Exhibition Game Sanctions, and Travel Permits be managed through the Minor Hockey Associations. As such, MJMHA is responsible for submitting these sanctions and permits on behalf of its member teams.


 

🔹 MJMHA Sanction & Travel Permit Responsibilities

  • All sanction and permit applications must be submitted by MJMHA (not individual teams), as required by Hockey Saskatchewan.


🏒 Exhibition Game Sanctions

  • Required for all exhibition/pre-season games from U7 through U18AAA.

  • Only the host team needs to apply.

  • No cost for the sanction.

  • Apply early — processing time is not guaranteed.

  • Must be submitted to MJMHA at least 5 business days before the game.

  • Start Dates for Exhibition Games

    • U9 & U11: Not before November 15

    • U7: Not before December 1

    • U13 and up: Blackout date restrictions apply (e.g., SaskFirst Tryouts, MJMHA/Provincial Playoffs)

    • Teams must be properly registered before a sanction will be issued


Travel Permits

  • Required for travel within Canada (to other provinces/territories) and outside Canada.

  • No cost for a travel permit within Canada

  • $25 for a travel permit outside Canada
  • Must be submitted to MJMHA at least 2 weeks before the first day of travel.

  • Online submission available.


Blackout Dates

Sanctions and travel permits will NOT be issued for U13 & older teams during:

  • Hockey Saskatchewan SaskFirst tryout weekends

  • MJMHA Provincial Playoffs

  • MJMHA City Playoffs

  • Hockey Saskatchewan Provincial Playoffs
