Re: Re-Open Sask. Guidelines

The Government of Saskatchewan has adjusted the Sports and Activities Guidelines in Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan for ice surfaces effective February 19th, 2021. The following reads:

“Large pool facilities (i.e., Lawson Aquatic Centre, Shaw Centre, Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre), ice surfaces and floor spaces (i.e., high school gym) can be used for multiple groups of individuals (18 years of age and under) for the purpose of conditioning and training if the following requirements are met:

• Physical distancing of five metres between groups of participants; three metres between participants; and all participants wearing masks
• Each group is limited to eight participants or less.
• Maximum number in the facility is 30, not including coaches and staff.

As a result, there can be two or three groups of players of eight on the ice, plus two instructors per group (U9 and higher) and four instructors (U7 and below) if the groups are physically distanced by five meters.

All players and Instructors must still wear masks and be physically distanced within their individual groups as well.

As a practical example: you could have groups of eight players in either end below the bluelines and a third group in the neutral zone between the blue lines.
