Position Overview:

As a Member of the Subcommittee for Female Hockey Development, Recruitment, and Excellence, you will contribute your expertise, insights, and dedication to advancing the objectives of the subcommittee. Working collaboratively with fellow members and under the leadership of the Co-Chairs, you will play an integral role in promoting the development, recruitment, and excellence of female hockey players within the Moose Jaw Minor Hockey Association in Saskatchewan.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Participation and Engagement:

Actively participate in subcommittee meetings, discussions, and activities, sharing your perspectives, ideas, and expertise to contribute to the achievement of the sub committee's objectives.

Engage with fellow members, stakeholders, and external partners respectfully and collaboratively, fostering a positive and inclusive environment within the subcommittee.

2. Program Development and Implementation:

Contribute to the development and implementation of initiatives aimed at enhancing the skill development, recruitment strategies, and overall experience of female hockey players within the association.

Provide input and feedback on the design, delivery, and evaluation of skill development programs, workshops, and other relevant activities tailored to the needs of female athletes.

3. Recruitment and Promotion:

Support the subcommittee's efforts to attract and retain female players within the association by participating in recruitment initiatives, outreach activities, and promotional events.

Advocate for the benefits of female participation in hockey, promoting inclusivity, diversity, and equity within the sport and the broader community.

4. Communication and Collaboration:

Maintain open communication with fellow subcommittee members, sharing updates, progress, and relevant information related to ongoing initiatives and activities.

Collaborate with the Co-Chairs and other members to identify opportunities for collaboration, partnership, and knowledge sharing with external stakeholders, including coaches, parents, schools, and community organizations.

5. Qualifications and Skills:

  • Passion for advancing the development, recruitment, and excellence of female hockey players.
  • Experience in hockey coaching, player development, sports administration, or related fields preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity, equity, and diversity within the sport of hockey.
  • Willingness to contribute time, energy, and expertise to support the subcommittee's objectives and initiatives.

6. Time Commitment:

As a Member of the subcommittee, you are expected to commit approximately 4-6 meetings per year, participate in activities, and engage in relevant communication and collaboration efforts.
